NCU Song "Love of God" Makes Worship Leader Magazine 2015 Top 20 List

Happy New Year! 2015 just got a little sweeter when Worship Leader Magazine announced that North Central University's song "Love of God" from their recent 2015 iTunes release "Hearts On Fire" made their Top 20 Worship Song List for 2015.

Landing at #14, NCU student writers Stephen Witt, Braden Dressel, and Taylor Heinzen were in good company alongside well known writers and artists Chris Tomlin, Hillsong, Vertical Worship, Matt Maher, Christy Nockels, Passion, Kristian Stanfill, Tim Hughes, Matt Redman and more. The touching ballad was sung live by 2015 NCU graduate, Brianna Tomlinson.

"Picking the top worship songs for the year is a heavy task—one we take very seriously," Worship Leader Magazine's Jeremy Armstrong writes. "Of course, this list is not the 'right' one. It is, simply, our list. We chose the songs that we saw making an impact this year, and songs we see as exemplars because of their prayer essence and congregational focus—these are simply our favorites as well." See the article and the full Top 20 List here.

Earlier in the year WLM released "Love of God" as part of a group of songs featured on their Song Discovery compilation CD, distritubuted to thousands of worship leaders and churches nationwide.

As the CD's producer, Deyo is tasked with compiling and arranging the songs and rehearsing the student band for the school's anointed worship recordings every other spring. "When I heard the demo of 'Love of God' I knew immediately that this was a song churches would embrace. It is such a powerful anthem for congregations, and I couldn't be more proud of our student writers!"

You can check out the song on YouTube here. And you can purchase the song or the entire "Hearts On Fire" CD on iTunes here. Then turn up the volume and worship the Lord with all your heart!
